Safeguarding Statement

Boland Companies Ltd is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults who engage with our online learning services. As an education provider operating in the UK, we adhere strictly to the statutory guidance outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and expect all staff, contractors, and volunteers to share this commitment.

As an online education provider, we recognise that safeguarding extends beyond physical boundaries and includes online safety, appropriate digital conduct, and maintaining professional boundaries in virtual settings. We take a proactive approach to ensure all learners are protected from harm, abuse, and exploitation, both online and offline.

We recognise that safeguarding in an online environment brings unique responsibilities. All staff are trained to identify and respond to concerns, including those related to online safety, grooming, exploitation, cyberbullying, and inappropriate conduct online. Maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring a safe digital learning space are central to our safeguarding practice.

As part of our safer recruitment procedures, all candidates will be subject to:

  • Enhanced DBS checks, including barred list checks where applicable

  • Verification of identity and the right to work in the UK

  • Confirmation of professional qualifications and employment history

  • At least two satisfactory references, including one from the current or most recent employer

  • Checks for any prohibition from teaching or management roles, as required by KCSIE

  • Completion of mandatory safeguarding training upon induction, with regular updates throughout employment

Any offer of employment is conditional upon the satisfactory completion of these checks. Boland Companies Ltd reserves the right to withdraw an offer should any concerns arise regarding an individual’s suitability to work with children or young people. By applying for a position with us, you confirm your understanding of our safeguarding responsibilities and your willingness to uphold our policies and procedures to protect all learners.

In accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, Part 2, paragraph 10, the roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

It is an offence for anyone who is barred from engaging in a regulated activity relevant to children to apply for these roles. Should the Company receive an application from a barred individual, this will be referred to the Police.

If you are interested in applying for one of our teaching vacancies, please include your CV and cover letter, alongside the role you would like to apply for. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
