What is Acorns To Oaks Online Primary School?
Acorns To Oaks is a UK-based online primary school offering live, engaging classes for children aged 5 to 11. We deliver education following both the UK National and the Cambridge Primary curricula, designed to support academic growth and confidence in young learners.
What age groups do you teach?
We teach students aged 5 to 11 years old, covering Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 levels. Our classes are tailored to each age group to ensure age-appropriate learning and progression.
How does online schooling work at Acorns To Oaks?
Once enrolled, students join our online learning platform, where they can access: Scheduled live lessons with experienced teachers. Class materials and assignments. Feedback and progress tracking. All learning resources in one place. And more! Our platform is easy to navigate and supports a structured, interactive learning experience. Our online school is structured similarly to mainstream schooling, maintaining the same high standard of education, but providing more flexibility with full control over the subjects chosen and whether children attend live or via recordings.
What curriculum do you follow?
We follow a blend of the UK National Curriculum and the Cambridge Primary Curriculum. This means children benefit from a broad, internationally recognised educational programme that includes core subjects like Maths, English, Science, plus languages, humanities, arts, and PSHE.
How do I enrol my child?
To enrol in our online primary school, the first step is to get in touch to discuss your child's needs and ask any questions you may have. We recommend booking a consultation with one of our friendly advisors for a more in-depth breakdown of fees and the enrolment process. From there, you can request a free 7-day trial or skip straight to the enrolment process, depending on your preference. Once registered, you will receive a digital welcome pack containing your child's school platform login. We recommend taking the time to explore and familiarise yourself with the platform before your child's first lesson, so they don't miss anything. The help desk is also available should you have any issues on the platform.
Can my child try a lesson before committing?
Yes! We offer 7-day trial periods where your child can experience our online classes, meet the teachers, and explore our learning platform before committing to any final enrolment decisions. If you would like to set up a trial, please make sure to book a consultation with one of our friendly advisors.
What are your fees and payment options?
Fees vary based on part-time or full-time enrolment, as well as your child's age or year group. For a basic fees breakdown, please head over to our fees page. For a tailored quote, please email us or book a consultation with one of our friendly advisors. We offer flexible payment plans, including upfront, termly, or monthly plans.
Are your teachers highly qualified and experienced?

Our teaching staff are all friendly, welcoming, and approachable, with a passion for inspiring young minds and a love for teaching. Our teachers truly care about their students, ensuring no child is left behind.
How do parents/students communicate with teachers?
Parents and students can communicate with teachers or student advisors through a number of means, including messages via the school's learning platform, emails to the help desk or specific teacher, and scheduled teacher-parent meetings. These options provide ample opportunities for students and parents alike to ask any questions, raise any concerns, or simply request an update on progress. All of our staff are friendly and approachable, striving to ensure families feel comfortable getting in touch should they need us.
What technology do I need for online schooling?
As the school is fully online-based, students require a reliable device (laptop recommended, but tablet usable) with a stable internet connection. We also recommend that children have headphones/earphones so they can hear clearly and fully immerse themselves in their classes. If you have any questions about what technology is recommended for children to have in their lessons, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Is online school recognised outside the UK?
Yes! Our combination of the UK National and Cambridge Primary curricula is recognised internationally, making it suitable for families living abroad or moving between countries. The standard of education provided is always of the highest quality, and children are enabled to build essential skills for their futures and continued education in secondary school.
How do you support student wellbeing and online safety?
We prioritise safety and well-being for all of our students. Our online sessions are conducted in secure classrooms, and we teach online safety and privacy as part of our curriculum. Parents are also provided additional information regarding the best online measures to ensure children stay safe online. Our PSHE classes further dive into the digital world and provide insights into keeping sfae online and protecting private information.
How is an online school day structured compared to a traditional school day?
Our online primary school follows a timetable of live lessons, breaks, and extracurriculars, much like traditional schooling. Lesson timings are scheduled so your child gets regular, structured learning time, with chances to interact with teachers and peers in real time. However, as lessons are held at UK times, we understand that not everyone will be able to attend classes live. To accommodate this, we record every class and upload it to the platform at the end of the day. Classes can then be accessed on demand at any time, providing flexibility around everyone's schedules. This is especially convenient for children who play sports, travel frequently, or have a large time zone difference.
Are lessons recorded if my child cannot attend live?
Yes! Recorded lessons and resources are available to students 24/7, so they can catch up on any lessons they miss, revisit previous lessons, or learn at a pace that fits your family's schedule. This flexible approach enables children from countries across the globe to attend our online school.
How does my child socialise with other students in an online school?
Our online primary school builds interactive class sessions, group discussions, peer activities, and encourages engagement from sharing ideas to asking questions. We strive to make every class fun and interactive for every child, whilst accommodating those with additional learning needs, ensuring every child feels heard and seen and can get the very best out of their education. Our online school's learning platform also provides ample opportunities for making new friends through class group chats, enabling children to communicate in and out of lessons.
How will I know how my child is progressing?
Parents are provided access to attendance, grades, and feedback reports through their child's school platform account. We are also always happy to provide additional reports to parents about how their child is progressing and how they have been getting on in their classes. Any questions or concerns can also be easily communicated through the help desk for one of our friendly staff members to assist with at any time. Our school also holds parent-teacher meetings each term to give an overview of how students have been performing over the course of the term. Our teachers also continuosly monitor children's progress, ensuring any concerns or praises are passed onto parents.
Are there breaks during the school day?
Yes! Our online primary school allows for breaks throughout the day, helping children stay focused in classes with a balance of learning and rest. As our learning plans are fully customisable, families have the option to select however many subjects they like, allowing for control over how busy their children's schedules are. Each lesson is typically 30 minutes long, with a few open time slots spread across the day.
How are homework and assignments managed?
Similar to mainstream schooling, teachers assign homework and tasks on a regular basis. Homework assignments are fully accessible on the school's learning platform, as well as their deadline and submission boxes. Students submit all of their work digitally, and teachers then provide feedback, guidance, and grading to help them continue to progress.
How flexible is enrolment if we join mid-term?
Our online primary school allows students to start at various points during the academic year, without waiting for traditional term start dates. This makes it easier to transition your child's learning journey, and provides full flexibility over when would be the right time for your family to make the switch.
