Primary English Language - KS1 Only

Our Curriculum

Due to the vast content covered in English in KS1, we have decided to split the subject into two separate subjects: 'English Language' and 'Phonics'. This enables children to gain a better understanding of both key areas of English, providing more time for focus on both phonics and foundational English language topics. This helps to better prepare pupils for further study, and provides an easier-to-follow pace for our KS1 English subjects.

English language focuses on building students' foundational understanding of key English topics such as reading and writing, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
